Don’t miss this gem! Cave Rock in South Lake Tahoe is a hiking experience that should not be missed. With its moderate difficulty level, stunning views of Lake Tahoe, snowy mountain backdrop, and the thrilling rocky section, it offers us a memorable adventure. Just keep in mind the limited parking situation and plan accordingly. Whether we're avid hikers or simply looking for a picturesque stroll, this trail is sure to leave a lasting impression. Towards the end of the trail, there is a rocky section that adds an element of excitement and adventure. It requires a bit more careful footing and navigation, but the reward is well worth it. The rocky terrain leads to a unique vantage point where we could witness the grandeur of the surroundings up close. Once on the trail, the stunning panoramic views quickly capture your attention. As we made our way along the path, we were treated to breathtaking vistas of the glistening Lake Tahoe. The crystal-clear waters against the backdrop of snowy mountains created a picture-perfect scene that left us in awe. It was truly a photographer's paradise.

Feast your eyes on these views! Absolutely a must-visit spot. Just a heads up: parking is like a game of musical chairs, so come early. Don't forget your coat and hat – it's not just a fashion statement, but essential gear if you're planning to conquer the summit. The hike and climb are as easy as pie, leading you to the top where you're rewarded with a stunning 360-degree panorama of the lake. It's like having a VIP pass to Mother Nature's best show!

Great hike. Pretty short so we were glad we didn't need any food or water since our hike wasn't planned. Young kids who have been around hiking on rocks are probably fine except on the very top where you probably wanna hold on to them. Really easy for anyone able to climb up and over rocks for 50 yards. Beautiful views at the top.

Great hiking trail that is not difficult except for scrambling up the rock. Can see the entire lake essentially. The water is so blue!! A little tricky to get to the trailhead. Overall very good hike!

Highly recommend this short, slightly steep 0.4-mile hike that culminates with a rewarding climb over a few rocks in the end to reach the top. It's definitely worth the effort for the stunning view from the summit.

Beautiful vista point for South Shore. Short walk but it's a bit of a climb to get to top.

Spectacular view of Lake Tahoe! There’s a small parking lot at the trailhead of a short hike up to the topic of this iconic rock. This is the rock that the highway goes through via a tunnel on the eastern side of Tahoe. The hike is short, moderately uphill, very hot and sunny in the summer, but totally worth it! Once you get to the rock itself, it’s quite a scramble to get up to the summit, but it’s doable if you’re able to climb up boulders. Once you’re at the top, you can see the whole lake with all the mountains surrounding it! This is definitely worth checking out!! Dog friendly too! Our golden made it up to the top with some help.
